Articles Experiencing Feng Shui (continued) © Taylor Vance About a month later, after all the artwork had been replaced with thoughtful, well-placed relationship enhancements, she was attracting men like bees to honey! And within the year she said she had to dismantle some of her enhancements, because she had found a relationship she wanted to commit to, and she couldn't handle all of the extra attention! More recently a client with the relationship blahs suspended disbelief just long enough to find dating happiness. When I described for her the impression I got in her relationship corner, I could tell she wasn't too sure I knew what I was talking about. How could it be? In that corner all she had was a very tall and narrow cabinet. On each shelf was a piece of ceramic ware. I said I was struck with how singular the pattern in the cabinet, and asked her to find new items that would express for her the relationship she wanted, and display them in pairs. Because she is 6 feet 3 inches, she chose giraffes! And she made a collection of them in that tall cabinet. Here's what she recently wrote to me "…I put most of my emphasis on the 'relationship' parts of my home…and have had more social activities - including dates and boyfriends - than I've had in decades." I honestly do not know how Feng Shui has such power. No one does. It is an awe-inspiring mystery that is growing in global awareness at a time when the world could use a little awe. I am comfortable with what seems to be a fact that its workings are invisible to our current realm of knowledge, just as germs were once beyond the sight and knowledge of doctors. To our great good fortune, we don't have to know how it works to demonstrate that it works. When we practice Feng Shui we seem to be communicating with a creative force, and the response is the abundance the Universe is always ready to give. I think it is a wonderful reward for our openness. And when we experience communication in this intimate way we experience a mystery so profound it feels sacred. We can't help but realize that every thing has its own importance, and that we have an important part in creating a nurturing, healing world, one space at a time.
